About these meetings

AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)

AA is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other to solve their common drinking problem. There are no dues or fees. The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking. The 12 Steps and 12 Traditions are the core of the program. Meetings include open discussion, step studies, Big Book readings, and speaker meetings. AA is not affiliated with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution.

AA meeting data on this site comes from public TSML (12 Step Meeting List) feeds, the same standard used by the official AA Meeting Guide app. Online/Zoom meetings are sourced from the Online Intergroup of AA (OIAA) open directory.

NA (Narcotics Anonymous)

NA is a nonprofit fellowship of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. NA follows the same 12 Steps and 12 Traditions adapted for narcotics addiction. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop using. Meetings are held in person and online, covering step work, literature study, and speaker sharing.

NA meeting data comes from public BMLT (Basic Meeting List Toolbox) servers run by NA regions, and from NA World Services directories.

Al-Anon and Alateen

If you landed here because someone you love drinks, the filters above are the wrong search. They list AA and NA. Your room is Al-Anon. If you are the teenager in that house, it is Alateen. Both fellowships keep their own lists.

You can look tonight. For meeting information in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, call 1-888-4AL-ANON (1-888-425-2666). That line finds a meeting. If you are in danger, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

Questions about AA and NA meetings

Do I have to speak at a meeting?

No. You can just listen. Most meetings offer a chance to share, but there's no requirement and nobody will pressure you. Listening is a perfectly valid way to attend.

Is this really free?

Yes. AA and NA are entirely free to attend. Meetings pass a basket for voluntary contributions (usually a dollar or two) but nobody checks, asks, or minds if you don't contribute.

Do I need to register or sign up?

No. For in-person meetings, just walk in and sit down. For online meetings, click the Zoom link. No registration, no membership card, no personal information needed.

What's the difference between open and closed meetings?

Open meetings welcome anyone — AA/NA members, their families, friends, students, researchers, anyone curious. Closed meetings are for people who have a desire to stop drinking (AA) or stop using (NA). If you're not sure which is right for you, start with an open meeting.

What if I can't find a meeting near me?

Online meetings are available from anywhere and cover every day of the week and every time of day. Use the filters above to search only online meetings. If you're looking for professional treatment rather than peer support, call or text us — we'll help you find what you need.

Does this page list Al-Anon or Alateen?

No. If the drinking is someone else's, this search will not show your meeting. It lists AA and NA. Al-Anon and Alateen keep their lists on al-anon.org. In the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, call 1-888-4AL-ANON (1-888-425-2666). The guides below say who those rooms are for.
