You can be scared and still walk in.

If the night turns medical, call 911 when someone is overdosing, seizing, not breathing, or cannot be woken. If you might hurt yourself, call or text 988. Come back to a meeting when you are safe.

Tonight

Call (212) 929-6262 or open nycna.org. If you are in Queens, call (718) 962-6244. Nassau is (516) 827-9500 on the same page. Suffolk is (631) 689-6262. A Spanish-language metro line in the meeting service is separate again. Ask if you need it.

A room with a name

Meditation in Practice, Sunday at 1:15 p.m., is at The Center, 208 West 13th Street. Just For Today is listed Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Keith D. Cylar Community Health Center, 743-749 East 9th Street. Solid Foundation is listed Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Church, 206 East 11th Street. West 13th and East 11th are both downtown rooms if you can get to the Village.

New Jersey and Long Island are not automatically on the Manhattan list. The page splits them on purpose. Use the number for the place you can reach before the meeting starts.

The first hour

NA asks for a desire to stop using. That is the requirement. There are no dues. A basket may go around for rent and literature, and you can let it pass. When it is your turn you can say you are just listening. People use first names. What you hear stays in the room.

Our meeting finder searches public NA listings by day and ZIP. It is one more place to look. The local list is the one to trust when they disagree, and you should still confirm with the group.

Alcohol is a different door. The New York A.A. guide has that hotline and those rooms. Stay with the numbers above when the problem is drugs.

If you need more than a meeting

Some nights need a doctor before they need a church basement. Call 911 if breathing is failing. Call or text 988 if the crisis is in your head. SAMHSA's helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) and FindTreatment.gov can point to care. (800) 653-9376 is our referral line for treatment, and it is free to you because providers pay for the referral. It is not an NA phoneline.

If you want a treatment referral, call or text (800) 653-9376. If you want a meeting in New York tonight, use the number or the list in the first section. In an emergency, call 911 or 988 first.

Common Questions

How do I find an NA meeting in New York tonight?

Call (212) 929-6262 or open nycna.org. If you are in Queens, call (718) 962-6244. Nassau is (516) 827-9500 on the same page. Suffolk is (631) 689-6262. A Spanish-language metro line in the meeting service is separate again. Ask if you need it.

Is there a specific room in New York I can ask for?

Meditation in Practice, Sunday at 1:15 p.m., is at The Center, 208 West 13th Street. Just For Today is listed Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Keith D. Cylar Community Health Center, 743-749 East 9th Street. Solid Foundation is listed Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Church, 206 East 11th Street. West 13th and East 11th are both downtown rooms if you can get to the Village.

Do I have to talk at my first NA meeting?

No. Listening is a complete way to attend. If a phone list comes around, it is optional. Leave when the meeting ends if that is all you can do.

What if I am in withdrawal or I might hurt myself?

Call 911 if you are overdosing, not breathing, or cannot be woken. Call or text 988 if you are in a mental health crisis. An NA meeting cannot manage a medical emergency. For treatment, call or text (800) 653-9376, and say you need a program.

Is the New York A.A. meeting list the same as NA?

No. A.A. and NA are different fellowships. The New York A.A. guide has the A.A. office and the A.A. meetings. For NA, use the local site and na.org's finder.
